Day Journey
One-Day Trips Beyond Rome
A day outside Rome changes the pace of the whole trip. Tivoli (Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este) is the strongest single-day option. Pompeii is the most requested. Orvieto for medieval Italy without the crowds. We curate the highest-rated guided day trips by destination.

Practical Rome
Concierge Services
Logistics handled before you arrive. Fixed prices, direct booking where possible, and no chasing confirmations on the day.
Airport Transfer
Private driver meet and greet inside the arrivals terminal at Fiumicino (FCO) or Ciampino. Taxi can be cheaper, but this is the calmer option when you want fixed pricing, no onward connection, and no rank queue when too few taxis are available. The driver holds a name sign, helps with luggage, and walks you to the car. Covers both airports on the same pricing structure. Civitavecchia port also available for cruise passengers. See the full airport transfer page for live pricing and booking.
Restaurant reservations
Rome's best restaurants still run on phone calls, local relationships, and early bookings, and popular nights at good places fill up faster than most visitors expect. Tell us your dates, the neighborhoods you're staying in or visiting, and what kind of meal you're looking for. We contact the restaurants directly and secure up to three reservations per package. This is useful if you want a Friday or Saturday dinner somewhere specific, or if you're planning a special occasion and don't want to leave it to chance. €30 flat.
Car with Driver
Private mobility arranged for flexibility, comfort, and efficient transitions across the city or countryside. We offer rides within the city limits, but also day-long trips outside the city. Within Rome: €85 for 1 hour, €160 for 2 hours, €220 for 3 hours, or €280 for 4 hours. Day trips outside the city are quoted separately.
Museum tickets
We source timed entry tickets for Rome's major museums through official channels at public prices: the Colosseum, Borghese Gallery, Vatican Museums, and others. Our fee is €15 per ticket on top of the official entry price. Useful if you'd rather not manage multiple booking systems, or if you're coordinating tickets across several people with different schedules. Not a guarantee of last-minute availability. The Borghese Gallery in particular books out weeks ahead and we cannot conjure slots that don't exist. We confirm availability before any payment is taken.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book an experience?
All experiences except the restaurant reservation pack are inquiry-only. Use the contact form or email hello@roamrome.net with your dates and what you're interested in. We respond within one business day.
Can I combine multiple experiences?
Yes. Most visitors who book an experience also have an itinerary. The two work together naturally. Mention what you're planning and we'll suggest how to sequence things so nothing conflicts.
Are experiences suitable for families with children?
The cooking class works well for families with children old enough to engage in the kitchen. Rome After Dark is best suited for adults. Day trips depend on the destination. Tivoli with children works well if you focus on Villa d'Este (the fountains) rather than Villa Adriana.
What is the cancellation policy for experiences?
Cancellation terms vary by experience and are confirmed in writing when you book. Contact us as early as possible if your plans change.
Is the cooking class suitable for people with dietary restrictions?
Yes. Mention any dietary requirements when you inquire and the menu is adjusted accordingly.
