Cooking Classes in Rome

Italian cooking is not a performance; it’s a way of living. Meals are where seasons, geography, and family habits meet, shaped by what’s fresh, what’s local, and what makes sense that day.

In Italy, food culture is often described as intangible heritage: a living set of traditions, knowledge, and social rituals passed down through everyday cooking and the shared table.

Our cooking classes reflect that same spirit. They’re hands-on, unhurried, and grounded in real kitchens and real ingredients, designed to give you a practical understanding of Italian cooking rather than a staged “experience.”

We don’t offer a fixed menu. Instead, we match the class to your time, interests, and appetite, whether that means learning one perfect dish or settling in for a long dinner at the table.

Classes are arranged privately or in very small groups, in settings that feel local rather than instructional.

Formats we can arrange

Single-dish classes

Focused and practical sessions, ideal if time is limited or you’d like to explore one classic in depth.

  • Fresh pasta (Roman classics or seasonal variations)
  • Gnocchi
  • Pizza (Roman-style or fundamentals)
  • Dessert-focused (tiramisu or seasonal sweets)

Duration: ~2–2.5 hours

Cooking + dinner

Cook together, then sit down to eat what you’ve prepared. Balanced, relaxed, and easy to fit into an evening.

  • Two or three courses
  • Optional wine with the meal

Duration: ~3–4 hours

Full Italian dinner (private)

A slower, deeper evening built around the table, with time to cook, talk, and enjoy the meal without rushing.

  • Antipasto, primo, secondo, dessert
  • Optional guided wine pairing
  • Private setting

Duration: 4+ hours

Market + cooking

Begin where locals shop, then cook what’s fresh and in season. Menus are shaped by what the market offers that day.

  • Guided market visit
  • Ingredient-driven menu

Duration: half day

Wine & drinks

Wine can be added naturally to the meal, either as a simple accompaniment or as a guided pairing. It’s always optional, and chosen to complement the food rather than distract from it.
